God Will Always Finish Whatever He Starts

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6

The word today is really for me. Have you ever had a blessing or a gift that you didn’t understand? Blessings are intended to bring joy and peace not pain – right? Lately I have been pondering on a series of events that have occurred in my life over the last five years and I am still struggling with a lot of things. I am still trying to figure out why certain things happen the way that they do and trying very hard to focus only on the lessons to be learnt from all the drama and not waste anytime on regrets. But some blessings are tough to understand and difficult to accept. Some come with a simple “Why me?” tag!

In the last few years, God has been speaking and moving in my life and definitely in the lives of many believers around the world. But in my own case, God has clearly shown me in many ways his divine plan for my life, detailed and in stages. I can now slowly but clearly begin to understand why certain things had to happen the way that they did. Why certain conditions needed to shift and why certain people had to leave. I am now swiftly graduating from classes (some I should have taken years ago) and learning a lot of life’s most important lessons along the way. I am aware that once these classes come to an end it may be time to make yet another drastic change but I am sure God will prepare me for that as well when that time comes.

I am now certain that God never starts something he won’t finish. After spending time hearing the Word of God and realizing his work in and through me, I have no doubts that the blessings I am yet to comprehend will all be clearly explained. He is after all the Author and Finisher of my Faith (Hebrews 12:2).
