But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. – Acts 1:8
It is very true that the Bible was written by people. But these people were all inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the Word of God. They held the pen but God directed their hands. Anytime a preacher addresses a congregation, he or she speaks but most often times, it is the Holy Spirit that speaks through them. If our lives are to be changed for the better, we need the presence of the Holy Spirit. Without Him, we will not be able to achieve anything for the Kingdom of God.
When we give our lives to Jesus Christ, Salvation occurs immediately. The Holy Spirit comes and lives within us to help and guide us. As we study the Word of God more, our spiritual walk deepens because we have the Holy Spirit. The benefits of the Holy Spirit in our lives are immense – quite frankly we cannot function without Him. God gives us the presence of His Holy Spirit so that we can share the love of God with the world. His presence in my life makes it possible to share the gospel with others through this medium.
With His presence, we can do and achieve incredible things for the body of Christ. We can not only feel empowered, we can accomplish powerful things. The Spirit motivates us with the desire to do more, to develop more and to give more. We begin to think of our lives as a service tool to others and we are able to overcome difficult adversities – circumstances that we could not ordinarily overcome on our own.
How do we get the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is a promise from God to all who repent and give Him control over their lives. Once we come to God in humility and accept the work of His Only Son, Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary, we are empowered to be a witness of the gospel. Give your life to Christ today. Do not live another day without the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. Life without God is really no life at all.
