Experience the Blessings of Walking in God's Will

The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse; and all people on earth, will be blessed through you.” – Genesis 12:1-3

The will of God is what we all ought to pray for in our lives because His will for us is better than any plan that we might have concocted for ourselves. God’s ways are not our ways because we are flawed and He is perfection. His instructions are what we ought to seek. His presence is what we must hunger for every day of our lives because when God shows up, things begin to happen. Lives are transformed and things that were regarded as dead and gone come back to live. God’s presence in our lives brings hope, peace and resurrection. There is no better place to be than the center of Our Heavenly Father’s will.

Contrary to what I have heard many a preacher preach, God’s blessings come with conditions. In order to experience the blessings promised to all Abram’s descendants, you must be walking in obedience to God and be ready to do his will. You cannot be walking off doing anything and everything and expect God to bless it. You cannot do wrong to make things right neither can you be hoping to get to the right destination going the wrong route. The Bible tells us that the right road is a narrow road and that only few are on it. The broad road that leads to destruction is however open and wide with a great number of customers. Walking in the will of God is not meant to harm us; it is meant to put us on the right path to fulfilling His purpose for our lives.

God’s way and his will are easy to find. If you have no idea how to walk in the will of God, study the instruction manual – the Bible. God’s instructions for the kind of lives He wants his children to live is all laid out in the Bible. But in order to have the help of the Holy Spirit in interpreting the power of the greatest book ever written, you will first need to surrender your life to the God of the Word. Give your life to Jesus Christ today. Begin to study and live by His Word so that you can live your life squarely in the center of his will.
