For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. – Jeremiah 29:11-14b
God has a plan for each and every one of us but it is up to us to put his plan to work. Everything we need to work that plan has been placed inside of us – in a place we can never lose it. The graveyard is full of plans that never materialized. Many people died with their gifts buried deep down inside of them. They never got the opportunity to share those gifts with the world. In the burial ground are books that were never written, magazines and journals that were never published, companies that never begun and inventions that died in the minds of their inventor. Why does this happen? The answer is simple – there is a condition to God’s promises in the above scripture. Jesus Christ is the core foundation of our belief in God. If we do not have the foundation, none of his plans can come to fruition in our lives. Sure we can have some form success without Christ but that is not the kind of success that I am talking about. I am talking about having a hope and a future in Christ Jesus. A hope and a future that all the financial wealth in the world can never buy. A hope and a future that can only come from faith in the work that Jesus Christ did on the Cross of Calvary.
Where does your hope lie? Is your confidence in yourself, your assets or the stock exchange? Maybe you are relying on your real estate investments as your source of hope? Real hope only comes to us when we call on God and pray to Him. He is the Only One who can fill that void that we have in our hearts. When we seek Him with all our hearts, we will surely find Him and He will lend His ears to our prayers. Only He has the power to release us from any bondage that this world has put us in. It is only through hope and faith in Him that we have an eternal inheritance in heaven. It is only through the Blood of His Precious Son that we can have an abundant life.
If you are tired of the way your life is going or you have it all but you still feel that you are missing something, seek Jesus today. Ask the Lord into your life. If you are paying attention to what is going on the in the world today, it does not take a rocket scientist to realize that these are trying times. The world, now more than ever, needs a Savior.
