I Just Can't Stop

So the Jewish leaders began harassing Jesus for breaking the Sabbath rules. But Jesus replied, “My Father never stops working, so why should I?” – John 5:16-17

Jesus healed a man who had been sick for 38 years and instead of people to be happy, the Jewish leaders had an issue with the fact that the healing happened on the Sabbath day. They were more interested in their rituals and man-made laws than the evidence of the power of God. Jesus was quick to let them know that God never takes a holiday. God is and always will be at work in the lives of his people every single day with no day off.

Ever since I gave my life to Jesus Christ, I have not lived error-free. I still make mistakes from time to time but a lot in my life as changed. My relationship with my children and with my family is different. I see life very differently now. I choose how I spend my every waking moment based on the commitment I made to God and to myself on the day I dedicated my life to him.

My main objective when I decided to start this medium back in January 2007 was to do my part in participating in the Great Commission. What other function do I have in this world than to be a soldier for Jesus Christ? How can I have a fulfilled life if I don’t do my part? What kind of life can one expect to have without Christ? What will be the legacy of faith that I will leave for my children without the Lord in my life?

Despite my adversities, circumstances and daily struggles, I have made a commitment that I will not stop proclaiming the gospel just like Jesus Christ did not stop doing the work of the Father. Truth be told, I have not found anything in life more gratifying. I do have my day job that I am very grateful for. It puts a roof over my head and food on the table for my daughters. But God has shown me in recent years that there is more to my life than my day job and I cannot wait to embark fully on my life’s work. Watch this space!
