We Cannot Fix Ourselves

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; - Romans 2:10

“I tell you the truth; no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and of the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. – John 3:5-6

Only Jesus Christ can save – no other God has the power to do that. We are all flawed. It doesn’t matter how nice and proper we appear to be on the outside and to the outside world. Deep down inside, we all have issues that we are not particularly proud of. When we are all alone and no-one sees, when we are isolated with our thoughts and no-one can hear us, God sees us. He knows what we are thinking even before we think it. It is so easy for us to look at ourselves and think that we are better than our neighbors. It is so easy to pass judgment on those that are weaker than we are in faith. But we are all broken in one way or another and no-one can fix us and make us new except Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we can find solutions to the issues of life.

God wants us to be whole and He wants us to have that abundant life He promised us. The only condition is that we accept the sacrifice His Only Son did for us on the Cross of Calvary. To be fixed eternally in God, we must surrender our lives to Jesus Christ. Only hope and faith in God by receiving his Son can make us whole. When we are born, we are born of water and of the flesh but when we come to accept Christ, we are born of the Spirit and salvation occurs. The process of us being fixed now becomes a strong collaboration between ourselves and the God of heaven. As we walk day by day with God and in His Word, our minds are daily renewed and we are gradually transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. Our lives change for the better and our attitudes to a lot of things of the world begin to differ. We begin to look for ways to participate in the Great Commission. Being a part of spreading the Good News that salvation in Jesus Christ brings becomes a big priority.

We will not be instantly fixed once we give our lives to Christ – far from it. Being fixed is a process. It is a process from salvation to liberation but it will only happen when we take the very first step by giving our hearts and souls to Jesus Christ.
